Honour Killing-> A curse on Indian Society

Even in the modern times, our Indian society is struggling with many evils.Of which the most haunted one among the recent times is the "Honor Killing".These day whether it is a newspaper, tv channels or web news portal, all of them are flooded with news about it.The people involved ranges from poor, uneducated people in the village to educated, working class in the cities.

Let's look at how Wikipedia defines it. " Honor Killing also called customary killing is the murder of a family or clan member by one or more fellow family members where the murderer believes the victim to have brought dishonor to the family. The perceived dishonor can be (1) Utilizing dress codes unacceptable to the family, (2)Wanting out of an arranged marriage or choosing to marry by choice and (3)engaging in certain sexual acts.

In India, most causes of honor killing involves the reason 2 i.e. marry by choice.

But is this the right thing to do?Just give it a little thought and you will get the answer which is a "BIG NO".God has given us this life and nobody else have right to take it away from us.I wonder how can a family kill their own blood? Isn't it a cruel act.

Our Indian society has still got the taboo of caste system which is an evil.Though we proudly boast of our education system but our minds are still illiterate. What's the use of such education when one cannot see the happiness of their children.Once a person is an adult, he or she has full right to marry by choice and no one can take that right , even their parents.

Let's just ponder a little more on why we Indians think that marrying a person outside a caste brings dishonor to the family.Remember one thing God has made each one of us human. He never discriminated us on the basis of castes.I feel most of the families involved in such a barbaric act fear that if society(people surrounding them, relatives) will come to know that their child has married someone outside the caste then they will make comments on their family or abandon them.Or To put it in other words how can they face the society?

But just think is the society more important to you than your child? What is your priority --- your child or society.Who is more concerned about you --- Your child or society? If one thinks in this direction then he/she can never think of honor killing.

If a family supports his child in their decisions then no one can dare to speak against the family.Indulging in honor killing is just an act of cowardness.Killing someone is not at all a good option.Things can be sorted out through talking and listening to each side's point of view.

The need of the hour is to spread more awareness among the people on this issue and the government to implement some strict rules for this practice.

I would like to conclude by saying that those people who indulge in honor killing bring more dishonor to the family compared with allowing their children to marry someone of their own choice.

Nishi was a self made, high profile and successful fashion designer.Just at the young age of 24 she has carved a niche for herself in the fashion industry. She was staying in alone in an apartment in the posh suburb Andheri of Mumbai. Her elite list of customers included many celebrities and socialites. She was quite popular among them. Her range of clothing consisted of women's wear(both casuals and formals). Her designs were unique, attractive and comfortable.

She had a very good , caring and loving friend named priya who was also a budding designer but was not as famous as her.Nishi never talked about whereabouts of family and that portion of her life was hidden even for her best friend .

As of now priya had this idea that Nishi had parents. But she never talked about them or went to
visit them. This thought used to intrigue her.But she never talked about this topic because she knew that this would make her loving friend Nishi sad and uncomfortable.

As Nishi was staying alone, Priya sometimes used to be worried about her friend, about her safety. But the things looked pretty fine.

It was sunday morning around 11 am.Nishi was waiting eagerly for priya as they were supposed to goto watch a bollywood movie together in a multiplex and later were supposed to go for lunch. But priya did not turn up in time.So Nishi thought of calling her but she did not pick the cellphone.
After many unsuccessful attempts , she thought of driving to priya's apartment and pick her up.

The moment she was about to step out , her door bell rang........

What I am doing this week :)

Hi Friends,
The current week seems to go comparatively fast.... The good thing is that for the first time I got a freelance work assignment in C++ through one of the freelancing site and that is keeping me quite busy :).The weather is really good this week and am enjoying that too.....
I love reading books and the I love being near to water bodies whether it's a sea, lake or river or even a swimmming pool.In our apartment , there is a nice swimming pool and it has got nice relaxing chairs surrounding it.. Everyday I try to find some time and lie on one of those comforting chair and read a novel.Usually I am the only one there in the morning, so I enjoy the bliss of solitude. The company of cool spring winds and presence of water makes me feel happy.
The bright sunny day brings the light to my day and I enjoy my time there.
Rest of the day goes in cleaning the house , surfing net completing my assignments. In the entire length of the day sometimes I do sit in balcony which is also my fav spot in the house.
AS of now no friends in the apartment though majority of the people are Indians .But most of them are from Andhra Pradesh and I guess newcomer like me is not welcome in their space ;)
Jokes apart I am trying to enjoy myself here by keeping myself busy.....

Time and Tide waits for none

Time and tide waits for none...
Make most from your life before it's gone.
Tides can be high or low...
Life also goes on it's own flow.
Neither you can stop time ,nor tide...
Take care of your life's ride before you slide.
Time is precious don't waste it...
If you have some dream, go chase it.
Do not wait for so called right time...
Sitting idle with this thought is biggest crime.
The right time begins once you start...
And you can hit the bull's eye in the dart.

hearts and roses

I came across these words which form the title of my blog while reading something on internet and I liked it,so I thought of writing on this topic.

Roses(red ones) signifies the love and the hearts are meant to be connected through love.
So Roses play an important role in expressing your love to the loved ones.

To the guys ,I would say that if sometimes You have a tiff with your lady love and if you don't know how to say sorry and express your love ,simply give her a bunch of red roses .It will solve the purpose.

Roses also teaches one important lesson of the life that even though you are surrounded by troubles, pain and sufferings ,there is the existence of hope and love that keeps you going.

The rose plant have thorns on it's stem ,still it produces lovely flowers.

To me it says never loose your faith and hope and try to spread happiness and love.

Our life is not meant for brooding hate/quarrel in the hearts but to be happy and to be loved and spread love.

Since I have not written for a long time, today I am feeling like writing a lot on different topics.
My heart wants to pour out my feelings.

I may sound philosophical and I am sometimes.I do think about life ,love, human relationships.

I have also my share of happiness and failures but that will surely make me a stronger person.I think each one of us have some purpose when we came to the earth and I want to contribute something good to the society,to the people .
